Booster Shot: Women’s Improv Workshop
Larissa (co-founder of Think Fast, coach, & videographer) and Beth Lenz (PhD student in Marine Bio at UH Manoa and improviser) are hosting a 2 hour “Booster Shot” workshop for women interested in improv. We are focusing on women because they are unfortunately a rare commodity in the improv community and we want to do our best to increase women’s involvement in improvisation, promote the benefits of improv in a woman’s daily activities, and generate a supportive community to help us reach goals whether it’s refining communication skills, focusing on being in the moment and only in that moment, public speaking, being okay with taking risks, simply being confident in your abilities, so on and so forth!
We believe that improv provides numerous transferable skills that allows you to successfully work in any way, shape, or form – whether it’s on your own, as a leader, or a team member.
This workshop does not require any former improv experience!
We will do active improv exercises that may or may not be new to you; and we may feel silly, but we will find ourselves in an extremely supportive environment and potentially discover things about ourselves that will surprise us. That’s the best thing about improv, you never know what will happen.
